Bio
Shirley Horn's restraint,
Tokyo's patience.
Aoi began singing standards in a small club in the West Village while finishing her conservatory studies. She returned to Tokyo in 2023 and has been quietly building a body of original work that lives somewhere between Shirley Horn's restraint and the contemporary Tokyo scene.
Her debut EP, recorded with a Tokyo trio, is in post-production and will be released later this year.
